Characters & Publication
The book is published by O’Reilly. Osmani announced its release in Your AI coding agents need a manager.
The book was originally announced as “Vibe Coding: The Future of Programming”, with an O’Reilly early release. Simon Willison criticized that title in Two publishers and three authors fail to understand what “vibe coding” means, arguing that a book about how professional engineers integrate AI-assisted coding tools into their workflow is not about Vibe Coding in its original sense. In an update dated September 4, 2025, Willison noted that the book was now titled “Beyond Vibe Coding: From Coder to AI-Era Developer”, which he called a much better title.
